A Big Thank You, New Resources & Important Reminders

Catch up on the latest industry news (and policies/remittances while you’re at it).

Dear Members,

First:  THANK YOU!  Why?  Because our order volume has been through the roof during the pandemic……which tells us that you are very busy.  More importantly, it tells me how committed you are to supporting The Fund.  It is so cool to know that you trust us, you rely on us, and you recognize we are there for you.  I know how hard you are working every day to make these deals happen.  I also know that we are working hard to make sure you have what you need.  As I always say at the end of these emails, let me know how we can help you.

Now.  Other things.

The Florida Bar COVID Help.  I participated in a Town Hall the other day, hosted by Florida Bar President Dori Foster-Morales.  I learned of a new resource for Bar members that some of you might find very helpful…..and you should take advantage of it!    There is now a mental health helpline that will connect you with professional counselors at no charge.  You may have access to 3 free telehealth counseling sessions per year to help you develop strategies for dealing with the current challenges.  No one should be embarrassed to ask for help in this stressful time.  The number to call is 1-833-FL1-WELL.

End of the year lag ritual.  This is the time of year where we strongly encourage you to get caught up on issuing policies and remitting both the policies and the premiums to us.  Many of you appear to be behind.  So expect to receive some correspondence from us indicating a list of search orders that do not have a corresponding policy or premium remittance.  I know this is a hassle but it is an important part of your obligations as a title agent under Florida law.  We are all fortunate that the Florida real estate market is so strong but dealing with a higher than expected volume of policies and related paperwork is part of it.  Thanks.

Future topics of interest.  Here are some things that are cooking in the background:  October is Cyber Security Awareness month and we are planning some great resources for you.  The legislative session is slowly heating up.  Let's hope we get through the election relatively easily and then we can get down to business.  FLTA convention is coming up and I hope to lure you into registering for this virtual event.

Stay safe and let me know how we can help you.
